Question about baptism around 1973- can anyone answer for me?
by Virgochik ini am hoping someone will take a look at this and be able to help me with my question.. i was baptized in 1973, you know, because i was a teenager and old enough to stand on my own when armageddon descended in 1975. .
perhaps elders, or any former elders especially, but anyone who was around then could help me with this question, because i honestly don't recall, and really need to know.. what were the baptismal questions the candidates responded to back then?
were we still asked if we repented of our sins, turned around, and were being baptized in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit?.

I'm sorry smiddy but I disagree.
I have looked at her past posts. The fact that there ARE past posts indicates a non-troll to me. This is a person struggling to make a life outside of the wt, and maybe now the struggle is getting too much.
And yes, if it's genuine then I DO think we could help her, if not change her mind, then at least to think about it first. Just to know people are bothered about you, to reply to you when nobody else is talking to you, could be real comfort. And the different viewpoints from individuals who have been in a similar situation can really help, we've all got different takes on stuff and a viewpoint might be presented that she hasn't thought of before.
I've wanted to end it before, I thought I'd let everybody including my god down, and I genuinely believe it's only venting on here, and learning from others, that kept me sane since I had NOBODY else I could talk to.
As for "who are you going to blame", i don't know what you mean by that. Everybody takes personal responsibility for their actions, but ultimately the wt hasn't helped one bit by creating a locked in society that's impossible to leave without losing everything. Personally i don't want to reflect that uncaring heartless attitude.
I'm heartened by the response in general to that thread, but saddened that there's been any negative response. Real or not, this stuff stays on the internet for ever and is visible to all sorts of people. The responses here may help someone else feeling the same.

Because nobody else is talking to her right now, just be there for her. Take her out, distract her from her problems, be a good sister, help her, communicate daily. This love will be in sharp contrast to the religion she knows. And it will hopefully open the way to more open discussions, she might be a little more receptive in the future.
But what everyone else said too, learn more. Ask her to explain the unexplainable. From the Bible. How come we're allowed blood fractions which come from donations, but aren't allowed to donate? How come we're allowed fractions at all if the Bible specifically condemns blood? Ask her if the gb have said anything about the Australian commission, because obviously there's two sides to every story and you realise the media are biased and wanted the jdub version. Ask her if she can help you understand the overlapping generations thing? Get her on your side, then when she realises it can't be understood because it's all tosh and needs blind faith in the GB, she might realise that you're on to something..
Best of luck!

Why is Mother's Day wrong?
by stuckinarut2 inso why is celebrating mother's day wrong according to witnesses?.
is it not an opportunity to show respect to the giver of life (mother) and therefore god, the originator of families?.
does it not give an opportunity for members of the family to give a hard working mother a day off?

Home made blood card wording (extra blood please, gimme all of the blood)
by disposable hero of hypocrisy inyo bitches.. being a good submissive little jdub i lodged a copy of my blood card with my eldubs.
it's in their safe as we speak.
i want to counteract that document without altering the eldubs to this fact.. my doctor has agreed to put a note on the medical system (uk) saying that i've changed my mind on the blood issue, no matter what any legal-paper-waving death merchant wt representatives may sputter at my death bed.

Yo bitches.
Being a good submissive little jdub I lodged a copy of my blood card years ago with my eldubs. It's in their safe as we speak. I want to counteract that document without altering the eldubs to this fact.
My doctor has agreed to put a note on the medical system (UK) saying that I've changed my mind on the blood issue, no matter what any legal-paper-waving death merchant wt representatives may sputter at my death bed. I understand that at that point, my fade is blown, but who cares by then, I'd rather LIVE and face up to the consequences after the fact.
He suggested that I make up my own document stating that reversal of decision, which he would witness and sign.
Any ideas on wording for this anti-no-blood-card card please?

In answer to your original question, yes, you can.
But you must be careful, and in personal conversation frame things in questions. Just giving a fact here or a quotation there can get defenses up, and that can come back to bite you in the ass. I've had success in that way.
If you mean in the congregation, answering up, then I think possibly, but you have to be even more careful as the eldubs will be listening too and you don't want to get put on the radar.
If you have to be there (I share your pain bro) then good Christian answers can redirect the hate propaganda sometimes, and can show people that you know what you're talking about scripturally. This could come in handy in the future if word gets out about your doubts, 'brother rogue apparently has doubts? But he's such a knowledgeable brother. Maybe he's onto something...'

After yesterdays shunning watchtower article
by dbq407 inmatthew 6:15 are jesus' own words on how to deal with a sinner.
15 “if your brother or sister[b] sins,[c] go and point out their fault, just between the two of you.
if they listen to you, you have won them over.

Add to that Jesus words again at Matthew 5 : 43-47 where he tells his followers to love their enemies, and if they greet only their own brothers they're no better than the people of the nations and the tax collectors as they do that also.
But no, we actually mandate that we are NOT to even greet any exjws.
Whatever. Watchtards.

Jolly good work madam, not quite the spiritual ecstasy that's usually associated with religious gatherings but joyous nonetheless!
Ours is tomorrow, I might knock one out meself.
